Requirements

This page contains the requirements that should be met in order to install and use the Access Decision Service (ADS).

Java virtual machine

An official, production-ready release of the Java Runtime Environment (JRE) compatible with:

• Java SE 17 (64-bit)
• Java SE 21 (64-bit)

Platforms

Access Decision Service is a Java Virtual Machine application and should be expected to run on any platform for which an official, production-ready release of the appropriate Java Virtual Machine exists.

Memory

A minimum of 512 MB of memory is required for the successful execution of ADS.

Ports usage

The following TCP port is currently used by ADS modules, and should be free to use in your operating system:

• Port 8080

Ensuring this port is not occupied by other applications is crucial for the smooth operation of ADS.

License and keys

To install ADS, certain key components are needed, including:

• ADS license file

  A unique ADS license key file with a file reference to it in the license property of the deployment.yaml. This is provided separately by Axiomatics.

  warning

  When upgrading from ADS 1.x to ADS 2.x, you need a new license. Your old ADS 1.x license will no longer be valid, so be sure to request a new one.

Secrets and keys:

• Access key ID and Secret access key for AWS CLI authentication.
